"These study tapes offer
the carver more net benefits than keeping the live birds. Let the Duck Blind worry about
the food, water, and mink: all the carver has to do is watch and learn. Every conceivable
pose is captured for each species; no more wasted time waiting and hoping for a captive
bird to assume the right attitude. By indexing the tapes any pose can be referred to at
will, in the studio, while carving, precisely when the question arises.
I fully expect to see a whole
new sense of liveliness showing up in competition entries as carvers begin using these
tapes to explore some timeworn misconceptions about behavior and anatomy."
Marc Schultz, World
Champion
"A carver's ability to
infuse a sense of life into a carving is just as important as his ability to carve
feathers, texture, or paint. In order to develop a feeling for the character or essence of
a bird, many hours must be spent observing it.
The Duck Blind Videos allow you to bring
these birds into your home or studio. The opportunity to view these tapes over and over,
utilizing freeze frame and slow motion, have made them an important part of my referencing
process.
Kent Duff, World Champion
THE DUCK BLIND VIDEOS are a must
for the serious carver. I especially find them invaluable when confronted with questions
of anatomy. Since the videos cover a spectrum of poses, I can pause a tape and analyze any
given view. In addition to the anatomical accuracy presented, the tapes reveal the birds
"personally", with special attention paid to close-up head shots. These videos
contain a wealth of information and are a fantastic addition to any carver's resources.

Willy, I just took a look at your tape and it is just what I was looking for.
It is great reference! The most important part of carving is reference and this video is like having your own aviary without the cleanup. It's a great way
to watch the birds and carve for attitude. I think the difference between a good rig of decoys and a great rig is the attitudes of the birds that you
can portray. This tape will help a lot of carvers create that great rig of birds. Thanks
Willy!
