The Duck Blind has quality Basswood for all your projects that require a good carving wood. Northern Basswood (Linden Tree) has been the choice of decoy carvers for many years. Basswood carves great, and supports detailing both in carving, texturing and woodburning, and is the first wood of choice for many decorative carvers. Although Basswood is a very carvable wood it still has strong and durable properties that make it the ideal choice for heads on working decoys.

Our Basswood is hand selected with a moisture content of approximately 8% which cuts down on fuzzing and makes a very stable wood. All of our blocks are surfaced on four sides and are squared.
